Third Watch Characters: A Real Life Drama

Third Watch Characters played a very big role in the success of the drama series Third Watch. It was the cops, the firefighters and the paramedics that made Third Watch what it is now, a legendary drama serial! I don't think it would have made more than one season if it wasn't for the firefighters, the cops and the paramedics. The nature of the characters that were cast in the serial was very average looking. That is why people could relate more to them and hence they liked the drama serial. Two of the characters of Third Watch are very similar to each other.

Bosco which was played by Jason Wiles was by far the most easily understandable character in the complete drama serial. He wanted to be the "Hero". He wanted to come out and save the day single handedly every time there was a distress call. This, at times, involves deliberately staking out dangerously high crime areas; for example, he might watch a suspect with a crowbar scan for unsecured cars. He sometimes waited for the criminals to act so that he can come out as a hero and arrest the criminal so that he can show the world that he did it.

There was another character in the drama serial which portrayed a similar but very true image. The firefighting character in the Third Watch named Jimmy Doherty was played by Eddie Cibrian. He was very similar to what Bosco used to do being a cop. He was very cocky and brash, he was always hungry for action and he was very immature. There are many episodes in which both of these characters are compared which really makes one question himself "Are they the same people?" I believe that they have intentionally put this similarity.

Eddie Cibrian initially tried out for the part of Bosco but ironically it was won by Jason Wiles. But when he tried out for they part of Bosco, he really impressed the producers and they made a character specifically for him named Doherty. Because he tried out of Bosco part, they made Doherty quite similar to Bosco.
