Controversies following Third Watch TV Series

In the running days of Third Watch, this show really had a lot of controversies surrounding it. Third Watch was such a reality based Drama and there was so much action, truth and drama in the show that not many people were able to consume its full dosage. Usually this show was criticized for graphic violence, depictions of nudity and harsh language but despite all this, the show continued its ways and found a lot of success all through it.

The show continually showed content and touched on topics that were considered to be barred and forbidden to talk about in the American Culture. To hide a conspiracy, Captain Finney took his own life just to save his years of honorable work. Captain Finney was played by Charles Haid. Also there was a divorce shown between Brooke Doherty and her husband after a graphic depiction of his marital infidelity was shown on television. Whenever Detective Grimaldi opened his mouth in the show, the first word to come out of his mouth was the NC-17 word. There is a lot of reality shown in the show unlike all the other shows.

Third Watch TV Series was considered to be taken of the Air many times because the censors were having a lot of problems dealing with the controversies shown in the show. Was there any reason to be afraid? Well normally this kind of reality isn't shown in a Television show that's why they were afraid. Normally the television shows are far from the reality but Third Watch was anything but reality. T.V is fundamentally escapist. But there is absolutely no fantasy in Third Watch. Third Watch is like holding a mirror in front of the audience and telling them that "THIS IS YOU!!" If forces the audience to think and to ponder of what they are seeing.

If was to take a guess about what was the real reason that the censor board was so scared, I would say that no one likes suffering, failure, and despair. The really unique thing about Third Watch is the way it takes a deeply rooted, personal concept and plasters it on a 27" screen.
